Summit College Club
Foundation

The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization, created to provide scholarships to young women in our area. The Foundation is funded by private donations, bequests, and the Summit College Club annual Book Sale. Since its inception, the Foundation has provided hundreds of thousands of dollars in educational funding.

While our scholarships focus on individual achievers, the Projects and Initiatives Fund held by the Foundation supports educational programs, not only in New Jersey but around the world. In 2024, we awarded BlinkNow (BlinkNow.org), specifically the Kopila Women’s Center, a $1,000 donation from the Fund. BlinkNow operates a globally recognized school and children's home in Surkhet, Nepal.  Their Women’s Center provides vocational training, education, and counseling. Other recent recipients include: the New Jersey Tech Trek program, which encourages middle school girls to see themselves in STEM careers (a state-wide program); the St. Joseph Social Service Center, which provides training in business and computer skills for women job-seekers in Elizabeth, NJ; and the National WASP WWII Museum in Texas.

In 2021, the award was shared by two agencies -- The 28 Days Project and the Period Initiative of the Community FoodBank of New Jersey -- which combat period poverty by providing monthly health products to women and girls in need. In 2022, the award was shared by two partner organizations who address the critical need for housing of migrants and the homeless.  One World One Love NJ is a volunteer-run organization that welcomes refugees--- all children, women and men fleeing war, trauma or persecution abroad.  Warehouse NJ provides furniture and home furnishings for these apartments.

Each year’s selection reflects the goal of the Projects and Initiatives Fund: to promote equity for all women and girls, lifelong education, and positive societal change.

Support Our Scholarships

You can make a difference in the lives of young women from our area by donating to the Foundation. Scholarships help the young women who receive them to lower their student debt burden, attend the school of their choice, and ultimately achieve greater financial security. The Summit College Club Foundation is a 501(c)(3), so your donation is tax-deductible to the extent allowable by law.
